  Hiren's BootCD was created by "Hiren" & "Pankaj". built upon Klaus Knopper's Knoppix (a bootable Linux operating system) Knoppix was created in the late 1990's and was a revolutionary tool. Hiren's BootCD uses this Linux technology and took it further and included a form of Windows XP. It was first kept as a secret till "Hiren" decided to share his work. It has found some controversial stigma as a "hacker" tool and possible violations. However majority of its software is freeware or shareware and its intended use is for computer repair. Yet still there are many different variations of other software similar to this using a similar bootable Linux.
